The day of departure finally came this past Thursday as many of us at Gracepoint Berkeley and Gracepoint Davis sent off the Gracepoint Riverside and Gracepoint San Diego church planting teams. In the morning, we gathered together to pray and bless them as the words of “The Lord Bless You and Keep You” ringed in our hearts. After saying our farewells, they headed out along with other brothers and sisters who will be helping them settle down. It was a very sad time to send away our precious brothers and sisters, but we really do look with eager expectation to all that God will do on the UC Riverside and UC San Diego campuses through their sacrifice.
i can’t believe the riverside and SD teams have left… it was really sad to see the team members go, some of the members i’ve known since my freshman year which was 13 years ago!, some who have been part of my small group, i’ve served together with in ministry, and even my own blood sister who i’ve known all my life… indeed, the Gospel is more than blood. it was a bitter sweet farewell for me. though it is sad, i am so excited and eager to see what God is going to do in riverside and SD!!
