We totally feel the holes that are left here especially as we had our Welcome nights at Berkeley but we see God taking and expanding the ministries at Gracepoint Riverside, Gracepoint San Diego, and Gracepoint Minneapolis. Praise the Lord.

Walking into the commissioning service and seeing the flyers on chairs, the 48 people on stage, hearing their testimonies, and watching the “Till the Whole World Hears” slides of different campuses — it struck me afresh what our church is about, and has been about. Our new vision statement, “An Acts 2 church in every college town” is not all that new, because it captures what our church has been about all these years. But the commissioning service fired up my heart with this vision God gave our church and made me think, “Wow, we’re actually doing this!”

When the church planting teams went up on stage to sing the special song “Send Me,” I couldn’t believe how many of them I had personal relationships with. So many of the church planters have impacted and shaped me in some significant way. Though I’m sad they will be departing soon, I am thankful for the memories we’ve shared and look forward to how God will use them to impact the lives of the many others they will meet in their new homes.

so moving to see my leaders, co-workers and younger brothers and sisters in Christ saying and singing to God, “Send me!”, and spurred me on to that much more serve wholeheartedly where I am and where God sends me.

As I was hearing the testimonies in the video, I was impacted by how God transforms lives. It was a group of ordinary people who experienced Jesus (Acts 4:13). I know that what was present on the video was not the full story. There have been countless people praying for each of them, behind the scenes, since they’ve come to our church. God answers prayers! I pray that we will share the message of God’s transforming power to the three campuses and many more in the years to come.

I was personally just really hit by the testimonies of these brothers and sisters. It was so amazing, knowing some of them personally, how God has transformed their lives so that now they were standing on that stage, committed to go in faith. I was amazed that despite our sin and inadequacies, all God requires of us is to say Here am I or I will go. Really, it’s about God’s power and the church and not about our own individual cans and cannots.
