Flute Beatbox: Super Mario & Inspector Gadget

Last week we posted the video of Sang beatboxing the hymn “Amazing Grace.” Going along with the musical instrument + beatbox theme, here’s a video of Greg Pattillo who could beatbox while playing the flute! His Super Mario theme is pretty nice, but he goes pretty crazy with the Inspector Gadget theme. I was afraid he’s going to pass out from the lack of oxygen!

Anyway, it’s pretty incredible to hear these familiar tunes in a brand new way. Enjoy!

BTW, I was kind of joking with James, the leader of the praise band here at Gracepoint Fellowship Church, about incorporating that into our worship routine. He said: “ummm….I’m not sure what to make of that… ‘wretch like me’?” Sorry, Sang! :)

James, I’m so glad you linked to this! This has got to be one of my favorite YouTube vids. The flautist is actually a serious flute student, I think he went to Berklee on the east coast. It’s amazing how he’s able to do the breath control and keep on beat all at the same time.

I would kill to see James Kim incorporate this into SWS.

WOAH! This has got to be one of the most amazing things I’ve seen!

We should do a beatbox/a capella praise special!

I actually have an album by him and a few of his friends titled, “Winter in June.”

  4. James Chao says:

Abe: wow, I didn’t realize he had quite a following!

Haha, Abe – I have that CD too. Unfortunately it doesn’t have these awesome songs that he has on Youtube. Probably a licensing thing.

Wesley: go for it!! If you can that is – this guy is simply nuts (i.e. highly skilled) =D
