Impact SummerFest 2009 officially blasted off as 74 second graders descended upon Gracepoint’s North Loop building, received by over 160 teachers, team leads, and other volunteers. The kids are from Oakland’s Garfield and Franklin elementary schools, and, for the first time, from Ruby Bridges Elementary School in Alameda. After a series of fun and exciting classes about chemistry, bridge-building, physics, art, and other subjects, the kids got to play some fun games and hear Mr. Josh teach them about how though life is a jungle, the important thing is to BE STRONG, BE FOCUSED, and BE TOGETHER.
Here is an intro video that was shown to the kids at the beginning of the large group time on the theme of “Adventure.” You can can read more about all that happened on the first day as well as watch a slideshow on Gracepoint Stories.
Please continue to pray for Impact SummerFest as there are two more days!
